PostUp does also offer an external ID database setup if preferred.

In PostUp, data is typically tracked at the recipient level, with a few notable exceptions included further below. The only required field to create a recipient is their email address, as that will be used as the unique indicator for their recipient record. Additional data can be added through imports or automated data feeds.

PostUp offers multiple default fields that can hold data. The default fields that exist within PostUp are:

Field Name Type Character Length
RecipID int -
FirstName nvarchar 510
LastName nvarchar 510

To load and track additional data for recipients within PostUp, you must first create a field to hold that data. New fields can be created at any time in the Settings tab, under the Custom Fields option.

Note: a user’s account settings determine the user’s level of system access. Therefore, several of the options and/ or tabs may not be available to all users. Please contact your site's administrator for additional information.

For both custom and default fields, a recipient can only hold one set of data within a field. If loading data for an existing recipient, you will need to choose whether to overwrite their current data with the new file, or keep the original data. Because this data is specific to the recipient, it flows with them and will be accessible any time they are added to a new list.

The only data that does not flow with a recipient is their list level data. Data tracked at the list level are fields such as Date Joined and Date Unsubscribed.
